This device aims to isolate the patient from the medium that is causing the allergic reaction and / or to avoid exposure to potential allergens, such as workers in animal experimentation.
Objective: design and develop an orofacial mask with a filter for particles, providing the user a breathing free from allergens.

Finite elements analyses of implant-pillar interface in dental prosthesis and possible solutions to reduce it.

Author: Galetto, Fernando Andrés
Director: Dr. Di Paolo, José
Co-Director: Dr. Decco, Oscar
Evaluators:
Dr. Heitt, Oscar
CPN Carlos Reffino
General objective: to get a computational model of implant-pillar interface that allow to analyze height variations of the micro-gap as a function of adjustment torque of the pillar over the implant and evaluating solutions that let decrease the implant-pillar interface value.
Specific objectives:
  1. To develop a mathematic model of the implant-pillar interface.
  2. To realize costs analyses.
  3. To obtain an economic valuation of harmful effects of peri implantitis.

Obtaining demineralized bone matrix from bovine bone for use in Oral Implantology.

Author: Zuliani, Cecilia Noemi ceci
Director: Dr. Decco, Oscar
The development of this work is based on the need of obtaining a material wich constitutes an option to fill to be biocompatible, osteoconductor and to allow the progressivve formation of bone through a resorption process. This led to evaluate the characteristics of the materials available at present in the market, and to find in this way that a satisfactory alternative can be obtained from bovine bone to avoid disadvantages offered by other types of materials. Whereas this technique already exists, is not produced in the country, and the use of such materials is imported, which increases the cost of the treatment. It should be pointed out that in our country there are companies currently engaged in research and development of Xenografts from bovine bone, but for other type of medical applications.
General Objective: To obtain a graft material with appropriate characteristics from demineralized bovine bone, which allow dental medicine to have a new national alternative in oral implantology treatment.
Specific objectives:
  1. Analyzing obtained particle sizes by density and porosity testing.
  2. Characterize the obtained samples by optical physical tests and / or chemicals such as spectrophotometry, X-ray diffraction, scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), modulus of rupture, etc.
  3. Make a socioeconomic analyses of the performed project with the purpose of estimating its viability in the future.
